Your photos are NEVER stored on our servers. They are processed directly by AI and returned to you. Once you close the app, your photo data is gone from our systems completely. We cannot access, view, or recover your photos — ever.

Welcome to Slay or Nay ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application ("App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and have designed our App with a privacy-first approach.

2. Photo Privacy — Our Core Promise

We understand that outfit photos are personal. That's why we've built our entire architecture around protecting them:

  • Zero Photo Storage: Your photos are never uploaded to or stored on our servers
  • Direct AI Processing: Photos are sent directly to Google's Gemini AI for analysis and immediately discarded after processing
  • No Photo Database: We do not maintain any database, cache, or backup of user photos
  • Session-Only Processing: Once your analysis is complete, the photo data exists only on your device
  • No Human Review: Your photos are never viewed by our team or any third party

How It Actually Works

When you analyze an outfit: Your photo → Secure Edge Function (proxy only, no storage) → Google Gemini AI → Analysis results → Your device. The photo never touches our database.

3. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information to provide our services:

3.1 Information You Provide

  • Context Selection: The occasion/vibe you select (e.g., "Date Night," "Office")
  • Analysis Preferences: Whether you prefer roasts or hype

3.2 Information Stored Locally (On Your Device Only)

  • Streak Data: Your daily check-in streak count and history
  • App Preferences: Notification settings, theme preferences
  • Permission States: Camera and notification permission status

Important: This data is stored locally via AsyncStorage and never leaves your device or syncs to our servers.

3.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Your photos or images (not stored or transmitted beyond AI processing)
  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone — unless you contact us)
  • Location data
  • Contacts or other personal data from your device
  • Usage tracking or behavioral analytics

4. No Account Required

Slay or Nay does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the app. This is intentional — we believe you should be able to get fashion advice without sacrificing your privacy.

  • No email or phone number required
  • No social login or OAuth
  • No personal profile creation
  • Completely anonymous usage

5. How We Use Information

The minimal information we process is used solely for:

  • Providing Analysis: Context selection helps the AI provide relevant feedback
  • App Functionality: Local preferences ensure the app works as expected
  • Streak Tracking: Local storage maintains your daily streak for gamification

We do not sell, share, or monetize your data in any way.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

6.1 Google Gemini AI

Your photos are processed by Google's Gemini AI to generate fashion analysis. Google's AI processes the image in real-time and does not retain your photos. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for their data practices.

6.2 RevenueCat (Subscriptions)

If you subscribe to Pro features, RevenueCat processes your payment. They receive payment information from Apple/Google, not from us. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

6.3 Supabase (Edge Functions)

We use Supabase Edge Functions as a secure proxy for API calls. These functions do not store or log photo data — they simply route requests securely. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.

7. Data Security

We implement robust security measures:

  • Secure Transmission: All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Edge Function Proxy: API keys never leave our secure server environment
  • No Centralized Storage: By not storing photos, we eliminate the risk of photo data breaches
  • Local-First Architecture: Sensitive preferences stay on your device

8. Your Rights & Choices

You have full control over your data:

  • Photo Privacy: Your photos are never stored, so there's nothing to delete from our servers
  • Local Data: Clear app data or uninstall the app to remove all local preferences
  • Permissions: Revoke camera permissions anytime via device settings
  • Notifications: Disable notifications anytime via device settings or in-app

9. Children's Privacy

Slay or Nay is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
